Inspiration
While I was studying abroad in Seoul, South Korea, I frequented study rooms and study cafés. The closest equivalents in America are libraries or regular cafes, but study rooms/cafés are dedicated solely to studying.
Usually, you pay a flat rate for a few hours and get a small, quiet room with a desk, sometimes a monitor or a whiteboard that you can use while you study.
They were a lifesaver for me during exams, and they served as my inspiration for this project.
I chose the name Suji because it’s the name of my first Korean language professor in college; she encouraged me to study abroad in Seoul, so she indirectly inspired this project.
For the logo, I used image trace on the illustration in the bottom left corner, made it monochromatic in a dark navy blue. I played around with a few different fonts, ultimately deciding on the Freude Regular font.
I changed the logo to include more colors so it would appeal to a younger demographic (and parents of that younger demographic) and would allow more of a variety in the retail materials that the study room could sell. I also feel the final logo is more eye-catching due to the pastel rainbow and lighter shade of blue.
The phrase “그래~ 오늘 부터 시작하!” translates to “Okay, I will start today!”
A small selection of drinks (water, coffee, tea) would also be available.
Available for purchase in the supply store within the study space.
